As Delta was founded in 1796, there is no shortage of history around each corner. This includes a significant number of buildings from past decades that illustrate the life of a busy and prosperous community:
The Old Stone Mill
A National Historic Site of Canada
CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE SUMMER SEASON 2021 DUE TO COVID-19
The Old Stone Mill in Delta Ontario is a National Historic Site showcasing milling technology and 1800s industrial heritage. The mill was built in 1810 and is one of the finest examples of early industrial architecture in the region.
A self-guided tour of the mill features interpretive displays, an operating waterwheel, millstones, bolter, grain elevators, and artifacts illustrating the grist milling process through the years. Artifacts include burr millstones, 48-inch Swain turbines, roller mills
and much more.
During the summer guided tours are available featuring demonstrations by our volunteers, who wear costume resembling the era.

Delta Fire Hall Museum, 121 Mill Creek Drive
Jeff Findlay, chair of a group of enthusiastic community volunteers, is in the process of restoring the old fire hall in Delta located at 121 Mill Creek Drive. If you would like to get involved, have any memorabilia to donate, or are interested in the project, call Jeff at 613-928-2885.
